The Smashing Pumpkins and Weezer on Friday 14 June 2024

The Smashing Pumpkins are an American alternative rock band from Chicago. They’ve sold over 30 million albums worldwide. Weezer’s music has been streamed billions of times, with the band selling over 10 million albums in the U.S. and over 35 million records worldwide since their debut album’s release in 1994.

Crowded House on Thursday 20 June 2024

Pop-punk princess Avril Lavigne is coming to Cardiff Castle, bringing some of her biggest hits. At her Cardiff show, she will be supported by Montreal rock band Simple Plan. Since launching her debut album Let Go in 2002 - featuring iconic hit Complicated - the Canadian singer-songwriter has sold 40 million albums worldwide and got eight Grammy Award nominations under her belt.

The American quintet have enjoyed more than 20 years of success on both sides of the Atlantic. They will be joined by special guests New Zealand psychedelic rock band Unknown Mortal Orchestra.

Manic Street Preachers and Suede on Friday 5 and Saturday 6 July 2024

Manic Street Preachers, also known simply as the Manics, are a Welsh Rock band formed in Blackwood, Caerphilly, in 1986. They form a key part of the 1990s Welsh Cool Cymru cultural movement. Suede’s debut shot to number 1 in the UK Album Charts upon its release selling over 100,000 copies in its first week, winning the prestigious Mercury Music Prize and becoming the fastest-selling debut album ever in the UK at that time.

JLS on Sunday 7 July 2024

Chart-topping boyband JLS will bring their Summer Hits tour to Cardiff Castle next year. They were runners-up in The X Factor in 2008, and their first self-titled debut album sold over 1 million copies in the UK. 

Rick Astley on Wednesday 10 July 2024

His most famous song has kept him on radios and music channels for almost the past 40 years, now 1980s pop idol Rick Astley is performing at Cardiff Castle in summer 2024. He will be joined by special guests, Lightning Seeds. 

Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds on Wednesday 17 July 2024

Noel and his band, Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, will return to Cardiff Castle. Noel played an unforgettable sold-out show at Cardiff Castle in 2019. His set will consist of a wide selection of Oasis classics as well as featuring a cross-section of material from the past dozen years of his highly successful career as a solo artist.

Tom Grennan found fame as a guest vocalist on Chase & Status' It All Goes Wrong. The chart-topping BRIT and Ivor Novello-nominated star has already seen four UK Top 10 singles. 

DEPOT in the Castle on Saturday 27 July 2024

An annual favourite event at Cardiff Castle, DEPOT in the Castle is a day-long festival that often features a very impressive line-up. The festival is now in its seventh year. Anne Marie will headline the summer festival. Other acts on the main stage are to be announced.

  • It would take approximately 35 minutes to walk.
